TRAGEDY OF THE SEA

Trawler’s Last Messages Reykjavik (Iceland), Jan. 24. A trawler sheltering in the harbour received a wireless message last night from the trawler Jeira, drifting helpless and badly damaged near Lambavik, saying: “Doubtless we shall soon sink.” The captain’s last message sent the crew’s greetings to their “families and old England.” Wreckage and lifebelts from the Jeira have since been washed up. She is?believed to have foundered with all hands.
