Cr. Southgate suggested that a conference be held “this night twelve months.” Cr. Piper: “The sooner we put them out of their anxiety the better for their general health.” He moved that tho Hutt Council be invited to attend at the Petone Council Chamber that night week. The motion was carried, the Mr. J. W. McEwan, remarking that he hoped councillors would seriously consider tlie matter in the meantime, and come to the conclusion that amalgamation was impracticable. * • » The practice of cremation has caused anxiety to some clergymen, because the Book of Common Prayer provides no form of burial service exactly applicable to this mode of disposing of mortal remains.
