"You cun hear motor-cycles going up the North Road like cannons,” said Cr. IV. G. Chapman at a meeting of the Waimairi County Council. He suggested that the traffic inspector should go on duty at night and try to catch the offenders. The inspector, Mr. G. E. Stokes, said he had put in considerable time at night, but had failed to find the large number of offenders mentioned. He had warned one or two when they came for their licenses, and had made them bring the machines back for inspection. He added that he insisted . on all “cut-outs” being welded up.
