Lambs Inclined to Ease Lambs, no change; wethers and ewes, par to 1-Sil. lower; porkers, l-Bd. lower. Lamb market inclined to ease. Wethers and ewes market quite and prices slightly easierfii beef market firm—supplies small. The above advice was received yesterday by M. A. Eliott, Ltd., Palmerston North, from Gordon, Woodroffe and Co., Ltd., London. Current. Smithfield "delivered” prices are quoted as:—Best North Island prime lambs: Under 361 b., Bd.; 361 b. to 421 b., Bd. Ordinary North Island lambs: Under 361 b., Sd.; 361 b. to 421 b., S l-Bd.; second quality, 361 b. to 421 b., 7}d.; average 281 b.. 7|d. North Island wethers aud/or maiden ewes: Under 481 b., 6d., 5 7-Sd.; 481 b. to 561 b.. 5 5-Bd.; 561 b. to 641 b., 5 3-Bd.; 641 b. to 721 b., 5 1-Sd. North Island ewes: Under 481 b.. 4}d.; 48lb. to sGlb„ 4 1-Sd.; 561 b. to 641 b., 3 7-Bd.; «41b. to 721 b., 3 5-Sd. New Zealand porkers: 601 b. to 80lb., 6}d., SOIb. to 1001 b., 5 7-Bd.; 1001 b. to 1201 b., 5 5-Sd. Henry S. Fitter and Sons, Ltd., London, cable as follow, under date January 24:—Lambs: High prices arc checking the demand, and there is a weaker tendency owing to increased supplies. Wethers: The market is quiet and unchanged. Ewes: The demand is moderate, with prices a little lower. Beef : The market is short of supplies; prices nominal. Pork: Trade is slow. Trade generally is slow. Current Smithfield prices are quoted as under:—New Zealand lambs, selected downs, 2’s, 7 7-Sd. to 8 l-Bd.; secondary lambs, selected downs, 7}d. to Tld. New Zealand lambs: 2’s. 75d. to Sd.; S's, Bd. to 8 1-Sd.; 4’s, 7jd. to 7}d.; secondary lambs, 7d. to 7.]d. New Zealand mutton : Small, s,jd. to 6d.; large, 4 l-Bd. to 5 1-Sd.
