A Model of the Endeavour

Sir —A good idea to have a full scale model of the Endeavour, but she was only 366 tons, and the Edwin Fox is 836 tons, so it would be expensive to turn the Edwin Fox into such a model. The two ships were much the same width, but the Fox much longer and deeper. The Endeavour was not much over 100 feet long overall, by 29 feet, by 12 feet deep (in hold). Meanwhile, why not have a flower bed somewhere of the length, width and general shape of the Endeavour’s top deck of hull? —I am, etc., R. 11. FITZ-HERBERT. Havelock North, January 24.
