LATE LADY CAILLARD
Special Rites at Cremation London, January 21. Lady Gaillard, who left her fortune to the Society of Progressive Souls, Ltd., a spiritualistic organisation, and whose relatives contemplate taking action td* oppose the granting of probate of her will, was cremated in accordance with the rites she drew up, indicating a joyful departure. Mr. Barhanell, editor of the “Psychic News,” conducted the service. Viscount Molesworth, president of the society, in an address, said: “It is not her death, but birth.” Oske-Non-Ton, a Red Indian chief, who was present at a seance at which the voice of Lady Gaillard was reported to have been heard, sang the “Rock of Ages” and “There Is No Death.”
The ceremony was photographed in order to ascertain whether spirits were present. „
