BUIST—COLEMAN The engagement is announced of Joan Marie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Coleman, “Homebush,” Stratford, to Eric William Norman, eldest son of Dr. and Mrs. W. F. Buist, Hawera. As one of a series of entertainments to raise funds for the Home of Compassion, the Island Bay committee is arranging a card evening for Thursday next, at the Island Bay Bowling Club rooms, the use of which has been generously granted for the purpose. Bridge, “500” and euchre will be played. As the cause is such a deserving one, the committee are hopeful of an excellent attendance. LEARN TO KNIT.
