A.P.A. SHARES Consolidation Proposed The conversion of the 10/- shares of Australian Provincial Assurance, Limited, into £1 shares is proposed in . an amendment to the articles of association, which will be considered at an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in Sydney on February 5. The directors state that in view of the fact that the majority of shares quoted on the Stock Exchange are £1 shares the public is apt to regard the company’s shares as being under par. Several instances have come before the board of intending policy-holders directing attention to the shares being quoted at a discount, whereas the shares, which are of 10/- each, have been at or over par for some considerable time. The proposed amendment admits of the consolidation of the shares, so that each shareholder will receive one share of £1 in return for every two shares of 10/-.
