I The Chinese Government in Nankins has organised the National Educational Film Association, under the Ministry of Education, to make films o£ educational value. The association has sought a loan from the British Boxer Indemnity Fund to finance its operations. It is the view of officials of the association that many educational films o£ foreign manufacture are unsuitable for showing in China. It is planned to produce pictures of typically Chinese subjects. Chinese historical events will he reenacted before the camera, and Chinese scenic spots will be filmed. The scream of the peacock can be beard a mile awiv. but the noisiest bird in the world is the cockatoo. A single bird can make a din which would drown a dozen motor-car horns and dim the sound of a steam whistle. The bell-bird of Brazil is runner-up to the cockatoo. This white bird is about the size of a pigeon. It. lifts its head in the air atjd makes a nei.se that sounds like the bang of a hammer on an anvil.
