HUNT MASTERS RESIGN

High Cost Believed Cause London, January 20. The high cost of fox-hunting is believed to be responsible for a large number of resignations of hunt Blasters. Mr. Reginald Wright and Lord Inchcape are resigning the joint mastership of the South Atherstone Hunt, Mr. Wright, told the “Daily Express” that it cost £2OOO daily to hunt some of the bigger packs, which, if tliey were out thrice tt week, meant an expenditure of £6OOO. Generally, the "master receives a guarantee of a certain sum from subscribers, but in some ■■smarter’' hunts like Fernie. there is no guarantee. Consequently the cost falls largely on the toasters, who bear most of the cost of taking down wire, repairing fences, and meeting poultry farmers’ claims.
