A “WANTED” MAN

Detective Who Remembered DUNEDIN COURT INCIDENT Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, January 21. One of the most valuable assets of a detective is l)is ability to remember faces and the incidents those faces recall. There are some Individuals, of course, who do not share that view, and one of them came to light this morning. Just before the Magistrate’s Court sitting commenced a man sauntered into the courtroom with the intention of giving evidence in a case- in which a friend of his was facing a compara tively unimportant charge. Detective-Sergeant Doyle rose from his seat. “Isn’t your name ?” he asked. “No, it's ,” was the quick reply. “And how long has it been that?” queried the detective-sergeant. “Oh. well, you got it right first time,” said the other resignedly, aud was promptly arrested. He. was “wanted” in connection with a theft committed at Auckland two years ago.
