Palmerston North Sale At the Palmerston North sale of wool, skins, hides, aud tallow held last week by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., there was spirited competition. Competition for wool was of lhe best, and values were very firm on the last sale. All sections were operating for sheepskins and under brisk competition values appreciated -}d. to Jd. per lb. for dry skins. Competition was a little restricted for calfskins with values slightly easier. Hides were keenly sought after. All ox hides appreciated in value id. to Jd. per lb., and cow hides were very firm to Ju. better. Values for tallow were in sellers’ favour 10/- per ton. The following is the range of values: —- Wool: Southdown, Sd. to BJd.: fine hogget, 7d. to Sd.t dead. 4d. to did. t bellies and pieces, 4d. to 4-ld.; crossbred.. Ist, (id. to GJd.; crossbred, 2nd, -Id. to S(L Sheepskins: Dry—Fine hogget, 61d. Io 7d. ; hogget. 5(1, to 54d.; fine crossbred. 7Jd. to Bd.: three-quarter fleece wools. 4Jd. to sild.; quarter to half wools, 4{<l. to 5(1.; slits, 3:|d. to 4d.; pelts, 3d. to 34(1.; dead. 3d. to 4d.; lambs, 51d.
