LABOURER FOR TRIAL
Charges of Forgery and False Pretence Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, January 17. Pleading not guilty to a charge of obtaining £l3l/13/- from Arthur Janies Anderson by falsely representing that lie had £520 coining to him from a family estate, two charges of forging telegrams and a charge of forging a letter. Michael William Augustine Lynch, labourer, aged 30 years, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial by/ Justices of the Peace in the Magistrate’s Court this morning Arthur James Anderson, honev producer. of Feilding, said he had known accused for the past four or five years. From September 25 of last*year' until November 15, accused had borrowed various sums of money from him by representing that £520 was due to him under his father’s et-tate. Witness said accused had repeaiedty stated that the money was due to him. He had received a letter purporting to be signed by accused’s sister in which it was stated that the £520 would lie paid to accused before the end of October.
