HOPES OF AGREEMENT

Dispute Over Abyssinian Frontier (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, January 16. The Abyssinian Government’s memorandum in reference to the recent incidents on the Italo-Abyssinian frontier has been lodged with the Secre-tary-General of the League of Nations, with a request that the matter should be inscribed in the Council’s order of the day. There is no request for dealing with the matter as one of urgency, and hopes are still entertained that an amicable settlement may be reached.
