SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Saturday afternoon nt Te Aro Baths there will be the first big swimming carnival of the present season. Excellent entries have been received for all events, which include 50 yards and 440 vnrds men’s championships, 100 yards ladies’ championship, and the men’s diving championship. Both the men’s championships promise to be thrilling races, and the competitors, who include J. C. Blakeley, C. E. Claridge, A. Somervell, D. L. Piank, J. K. Thwaites, R. Pelham, have all been in training for some time past.
