POLICY OF JAPAN IN EAST
Foreign Minister to Speak DETERMINATION TO KEEP PEACE By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, (Received January 16, 11.50 p.m.) Tokio, January 16. Forecasting the trend of the speech | of the Foreign Minister, Mr, Hirota, on 1 foreign policy in the Diet, probably on i January 22, the Foreign Spokesman indicated that he will reiterate Mr. Hirota’s former pronouncements respecting determination to keep peace and order in East Asia, especially China, which is a cardinal point in Japan’s policy.. Japanese relations with the Soviet are at present calm, which will undoubtedly be reflected in Mr. Hirota’s speech. Many pending questions with China and the Soviet, it is hoped, may be settled one by one after the Chin-ese-Eastern railway deal is consummated.
