OVERSEA CONVERSION

£5,000,000 Loan Maturingin July DOMICILED IN ENGLAND By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, January 16. In an interview on his arrival from the north this afternoon, the Minister of Finance, Rt. lion. .1. G. Coates, said that :i Government loan of £5,000,000 would be maturing in England in July of this year, and indicated that steps would be taken in the near future with a view to its conversion. Asked whether lie could say anything further concerning the state of the public accounts for the first nine months of the present financial year, Mr. Coates said that the figures, which were at present in the audit stages, had not reached him yet, and be was unable to express any opinion as to the amounts that would'be yielded by the particular sources of revenue.
