Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Watson, Wellington, are spending a month at Whangarei. Mrs. L. T. Daniell and family, Akura, Masterton, are visiting Paraparaumu.
Mrs. A. Stewart, Whangarei, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Holmwood, Masterton.
Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Irwin, .Masterton, have returned home from: a holiday visit to Hawke’s Bay.
Miss E. Horner, Masterton, has returned home from a holiday visit to the Samoan Islands.
Miss J. Grubner, Mangatainoka, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. Cox, Lower Hutt.
Mrs. A. C. Bellamore and family, Wellington, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. J. Juno, Pabautea, Featherston. Mrs. P. Donaldson, Christchurch, is visiting Mrs. G. Baird, Longhush, Masterton.
Miss Card, Featherston, who has been spending a holiday at Island Bay, returned home yesterday.
Mrs. N. Gower, Petone, is visiting Wanganui for the marriage of Miss J. Duncan.
Mr. and Mrs. D’Ath and Miss Margaret D’Ath are motoring to Auckland to attend the Simcox —Rawson wedding. Miss Grace Avery, New Plymouth, and Miss Irene O’Sullivan, Hawera, returned by the Wanganella from a trip to Sydney and Melbourne. Miss Mary Wigley, Whangarei, who has spent several weeks with relatives in Canterbury, is in Wellingtqn for a day or two before going home. Miss Cynthia Jeffierd, Hastings, passed through Wellington yesterday on her way to stay with Mrs. Monro, Blenheim.
• Miss May Putnam, Northland, who has been on a trip to England, will return home by the Otranto via Sydney, arriving early next month. Lieutenant-Commander V. Boyle and Mrs. Boyle, who will arrive in New Zealand by the Remuera on January 21; will be the guests of Mrs. Howard Tripp, Timaru.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Tyler, Hopper Street, have returned from a motor camping tour with friends in the Marlborough Sounds and Southern Lakes districts. Miss Edna Norwood, Hobson Street, who will be one of the bridesmaids at the wedding of her brother, Mr. Walter Norwood, to Miss Rana Redpath, ar Christchurch, on Wednesday, January 30, will go south to-morrow evening. She will be the guest of Mrs. J. A. Redpath. Mrs. Elizabeth Glendining and Misses Nellie and Bessie Glendining. Dunedin, passed through Wellington yesterday en route to Auckland and Sydney. At the latter port they are to join R M.S, Mongolia for England. It is their intention to make a comprehensive tour of Great Britain and the Continent.
Lady Wilford, who is at present in Dunedin, was guest of honour at a lun-‘ eheon party given by Mrs. W. Laidlaw at the Otago Women’s Club on Friday. ■On Saturday, Mrs. J. M. Galloway gave a tea party at the Savoy in Tady Wilford’s honour, and in the afternoon the Misses Reynolds entertained Lady Wilford at their home, Macandrew Bay. l During the week Lady Wilford lunched with the Hon. W. Downie Stewart and Miss Downie Stewart at their residence, Heriot Row, and also had tea with Mrs. Shand and the Misses Shand.
