WEDDINGS

Wyatt—Rountree The wedding was solemnised recently at the Lower Hutt Methodist Church, of Edna Alice, second daughter of Mrs. L. Rountree, and William Stephen, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wyatt, Taita. The bride, who was escorted by her cousin, Mr. Jack Moy, wore a gown of white windswept crepe with lace yoke,’made on princess lines, the skirt flaring into a short train. Her veil was held to her head with sprays of orange blossom and covered the train. She carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. She was attended by her sister, Miss Marjorie Rountree, as chief bridesmaid,

and by Miss Ella Wyatt, sister of the bridegroom. They were dressed alike, one in green and the other in pink georgette, cut on simple fitting lines, with high necks, puffed sleeves, and frilled godets let into the skirts. Their bandeaux were of green and silver leaves and their sheaf bouquets were of sweet peas and gvpsophila. Mr. H. Cranksiiaw was best man, the Rev. H. Sharp being the officiating minister. As the bride left the church, she was presented with a horseshoe by her niece, Marion Wooliam. At the reception, which took place at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Mrs. Rountree wore a maroon ensemble, with fawn hat, and carried a posy of larkspur and gypsophila. The bridegroom’s mother was in black and white flecked crepe de chine and a black hat, her posy being of carnations and maidenhair fern.

Mrs. L. H. Hunt, Karori, and Miss Joyce Farrington, Hill Street, are staying at Auckland with Mrs. Falls. They will be away for another week or two.
