MARRIED AT ROME
* Infanta Beatrice of Spain: BRIDE’S MOTHER ABSENT Rome, January 14. Over 4000 members of the Spanish nobility attended the wedding of the Infanta Beatrice to Brince Alessandro. The ex-King Alfonso gave away the Infanta. The Pope gave an audience to {he couple after the ceremony. The honeymoon will be spent in the United States. Queen Ena remained in London while her daughter was married in Rome, a London message states. Her secretary said: “I cannot give you a reason for her Majesty’s not going to Rome.” An official statement has been issued : ‘‘Queen Ena does not wish to make any communication to the Press about her private affairs.” “Le Soir,” Paris, states that Alfonso did everything possible to secure the Queen’s attendance at her daughter’s wedding. Iler absence is an outward sign that the disunion has now become final. (Note on Page 7.)
