TRENTHAM MEETING
Acceptors For First Day of Summer Fixture TWELVE IN THE CUP The 'Wellington Racing Club received an excellent list of acceptances for the first day of the summer meeting next week. Twelve remain in the cup out of 17 nominated, and the only absentee of any note is King March, the stable relying in this race upon Gay Marigold. A pleasing acceptance is the top-weight Vintage, about whom there was a doubt on account of his proposed -trip to Australia. Polydora, as announced is not an acceptor, and the others to fall out of the cup were Passion Fruit, Great Star and Korero. Golden Wings is a notable absentee in the Telegraph Handicap, the field fol' which numbers 11, other non-acceptors being Cottesmore, Hunting Lodge and Rerepai. Fields are not so large as for the opening day last year, but they are very satisfactory in view of the smaller entries, and their numbers thia year , are really better from a racing point of view. The largest field is 17 in the Ruapehu Hack, and there are 15 in the Wellington Stakes and in the Trentham Highweight. The list is as follows:—
