Increased N.Y.K. Profits
A dividend at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum has been declared by Nippon Yustfii Kaisha, tiie Japanese Mail Steamship Company, l/mitcd. for the half-year ended September 30. A similar dividend for the half-year ended March 31 was the first paid for four years. The net profit for the period was 3.090.000_ yen (about 309.000 nt pa.r). against 797.000 yen (£79,700). for the corresponding period last year. At the annual meeting in Tokio tiie president. Mr. K. Kagann. stated that the increased profits were due to the continual low exchange and mo.’« freight and passenger earnings.
