Paraparaumu Camp Site
Sir, —Your footnote to my letter concerning the obsolete facilities that at present exist at the Paraparaumu beach s camp site is rather interesting. A camp site is advertised, but no one seems to know who controls it. Probably it is the Hutt County Council. When I was at the beach recently, several residents there informed me that the camp site was under the control of the domain board. I have evidently been misinformed. However, some local authority must control the site, and it was my desire to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the present unsatisfactory sanitary arrangements that at present exist there. In the interests of public health and com- ■ mon decency, improvements should be made immediately; failing this, the socalled camp site should be closed up, and the notice board at Paraparaumu, misleading motorists and campers, should be removed. This matter vitally concerns the business people at the beach. If. they want motorists and campers to stay at the beach they should see that proper facilities are provided for those who prefer to camp in the open.—l am, etc., REGULAR CAMPER NO. 1. Hawke’s Bay, January 11. ITlie site is not controlled by the Hutt County Council.)
