The Capital City
Sir, —I heartily endorse what has been said about the inefficiency of local barbers. I have found it very difficult to get a decent hair trim in Wellington; hair is hacked and chopped at in a way which pvould be a disgrace to an amateur. Another thing I notice hei'c are the grubby dining rooms, especially those with glasstopped tables and no covers. They are verv often greasy; the chairs are the sanie and often have particles of food on them, which ruins clothing. The least said about the floors the better. The service in most Uinius rooms is deplorably slow, and the food almost cold. The trams are dirty. The footpaths, uneven and sloping,' are the worst I have yet seen. —I am. etc.. CKITICUS. Wellington. Jnuunry 11.
