WINDFALL FOR SONS OF SOLDIER
Trust Fund Subscribed in Trenches
Members of the Wellington Mounted Rilles Regiment who were in action at Bir-et-Maler in 1916 may remember that when Sergeant "Bill” Moseley succumbed to wounds a. subscription list was opened for his dependants. So popular had Sergeant Moseley been with all ranks that an amount of £136 was subscribed on the spot and sent back to New Zealand. The sum of £36 was paid to the widow, and £5O each was invested in the names of the two sons.
One son attained his majority ou June 4, 1929, aud received £B7/4/6. The trust was finalised on May 12,1934, when the second son received £lOB/7/10.
