Mr. Frederick Faulkner

Bv Telegraph. — Press Association

Nelson, January 11.

Tlie death has occurred at Wakefield .of Mr. Frederick Faulkner, at the age of 101 years. His father, with two sons; came out to Australia in 1852, a few years later coming to New Zealand and settling at Waihola, South Dunedin. After some years he returned to England, but came back to New Zealand. Looking for a milder climate he chose the Nelson district, eventually settling at Wakefield, where Mr. Faulkner lived for 58 years. When five years of age, in England, Mr Faulkner had a severe attack of smallpox, a doctor remarking that if he recovered he would live to be 100—a prophesy that came true. Mr. Faulkner was unmarried.
