Pinch out the main shoots of pumpkins and marrows to encourage lateral shoots.
Peas, beans, celery, cucumbers and marrows quickly suffer from drought. In dry weather the crops should be icatered freely.
> Sow silver beet in well-prepared soil. Keep the soil well worked between the rotes and turn under weeds at frequent intervals.
