MEAT QUOTA PROBLEM

Melbourne, January 10.
It is expected that the Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, will shortly leave for London owipg to the uncertainty of the meat situation. The Commonwealth has not yet received a reply to its cablegram conveying the decision of the Federal Cabinet last week on the subject of restricting meat exports.

Decision of Northern Grocers in Britain

The northern council of the Grocers’ Associations at Manchester recommended 5000 members to resume normal purchases of Australian goods in view of the assurances of the- cotton trades conference that a satisfactory adjustment of differences is expected.
