MINING DEVELOPMENT

River Diversion Project Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, January 8. Dr. E. Marsden, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Mr. AV. Bromley, of the Unemployment Board, and the under-secretaries for mines and public works, Messrs. A. Tyndall and C. J. McKenzie, respectively, will visit Central Otago toward the end of this month, with a view to considering matters in connection with the development of the mining industry. They will also investigate the project for' diverting the waters of the river Nevis by tunnel, so as to command Cromwell Flat and other prospective mining areas, and. also to serve as a source of irrigation for land in the Clutha A’alley.
