Ministerial. The Kt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, who is at Dargaville with his family, will return to Wellington next week. The Hou. J. Bitehener, .Minister of Public Works, went south in the interisland steamer express last evening on a visit to Timaru. Captain J. W. Tweedie, A.D.C., went south by the streamer express last night. Mr. P. Fraser. M.P., left for the north by the Limited express last night. Dr. F. T. Bowerbank has returned to Wellington from. Paraparaumu, where he has been spending a holiday.
Major-General AV. L. 11. Sinclair Burgess left AA’ellington for the south last night.
’•Mr. C ( W. Earle, president of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of New Zealand, is visiting the South Island.
Mr. E. Emanuel Goldberger, expert representative of an American radio corporation, is iu Wellington on a business visit to New Zealand. Mr. AV. R.'Pareell, formerly of AVellington, but now manager of the Metropolitan Electric Company, Sydney, is at present revisiting the Dominion. Lieutenant J. Carmalt Jones is expected to arrive in AVelilngton from London on January 19 to join the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. Mr. AV. J. MeKell, ex-Minister of Justice for New Sbutfi AVales, returned to AVelilngton yesterday after touring in the South Island.
Mr. G. Rosenbaum, of AVeilington, managing director of the Dominion Life Assurance Office of New Zealand, Ltd., has returned from a visit to Australia.
.Mr. H. E. Ashby, second reader,-has been appointed to thg position of Copy Supervisor, Government Printing Office. Mr. W. Stevens takes the position vacated by Mr. Ashby. Mr. 11. 11. Nesbitt, Australian Trade Commissioner, and Mr. J. Payne, assistant Trade Commissioner, left for Auckr land yesterday, and will return at the end of next week.
Mr. H. Vickery, of Invercargill, arrived in AVeilington from the.south yesterday. Mr. R. N. Shiminin, production director of Pelaco, Ltd., Melbourne, who is at present visiting Christcfiurch to carry out research work with an affiliated firm, expects to sail from AVel-' lington by the Monowai on January 10. Mr. Terence Vaughan is expected from Christchurch this morning, on his way north to visit his grand-parents in Auckland and AVhangarei. He will return to AVeilington before leaving for England by. (he AVanganella on January 17.
