LODGE MEETING

Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F.

At the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Rose of the Valley Lodge, Lower Hutt, Bro. W. J. Hollis, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Lodge honour? were accorded district officers, Bro. E. W. Guise, D.S., replying on behalf of the visitors and complimenting the lodge on its performance in the ritual contest, and also Bro. Hollis on winning the Turner Merit Jewel for best Noble Grand. The installation of officers was carried out by Bro. Guise, supported by Sister McFarlane and Bro. Blair. Bros. Norris and Craddock were conductors. The following officers were installed: —N.G., Bro. A. Hewer; V.G., Bro. E. Hewer; E.S., Bro. H. Hewer; warden, Sister N. Reynolds: guardian, Sister E. Stevenson : conductors, Bro. L. Holms, Sister M. Bell; 1.F.N.G., Bro. W. Hollis; L.M., Bro. S. A. Little. At the conclusion of the ceremony the N. asked that a member of the district present an emblem to Past Grand Bro. Little on behalf of the lodge. Bro. Blair made the presentation, Bro. Little expressing appreciation.' Bro. Blair made brief reference to his attendance at the London conference, and to the fact that Sir Thomas Wilford had at a social function referred to the Loyal Rose of Valley Lodge and the long term of secretaryship served by Bro. Hall.
