Centenary Draughts Title

Melbourne, January 7

Having defeated McLaiighlan in the final of the losers’ section of the Centenary draughts championship, Richard met Boyles (Victoria), leader of the winners’ section and holder of the title in the final.

Boyles won the championship with two wins against one win and five draws.

Since the first contest in New Zealand in 1885, the title has been held four times by New Zealanders. Boyles was champion in 1927 and 1932.
