New Violet Ray Apparatus
Bombay, January 6. A violet ray mosquito-killing apparatus invented by Signor Vitali Menasche was demonstrated in waterlogged country where it had been erected. The device consists of a hollow tower with an ultra-violet ray tube with an insect trap in the centre and a powerful fan at the base. Insects arrived in flocks, and within a few minutes were piled dead in the insect trap in such quantities that it was impossible to estimate (he numbers.
