Mothers Guard Bridge
A grout) of mothers stood guard over i bridge at Tonmawt village recently and refused to let children cross over, states the "Daily Express.” Below the bridge a swollen torrent • need and roared. On the other side was a school with empty desks. The Tonina wr mothers held the bridge all day, and would not let a single child risk the crossing.
Education officials tried to persuade them to adopt a less belligerent attitude, but the women replied by calling a school strike until the bridge is repaired.
