AEROPLANE MISHAP
Undercarriage Smashed LANDING NEAR WESTPORT By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, January 6. When attempting to land at Carter’s Beach, three miles from Westport, this afternoon, a Redwing plane, piloted by Mr. 11. T. Parry, Hokitika, had its undercarriage badly smashed, the wings also being damaged. The pilot noticed something wrong with the undercarriage when taking off and tried to make a landing, but the machine buckled up. Neither pilot nor passenger was injured.
