Record Number of Cases in 1934 BIG MILEAGE TRAVELLED During the year just closed the Wellington District Free Ambulance had a much busier (ime than iu 1933, according to figures supplied to “The Dominion” yesterday by the superintendent, Mr. F. Roffe. in all, 5623 cases were attended, comprising 1069 accidents, 7350 transports, and 174 minor cases, as against ffSJS in 1933— an increase of 765 The 1933 iigures were made up as follow: —Accidents 870, transports 6873, minor cases 115. During 1934 the ambulances travelled 85,432 miles, as against 74,525 in the previous year—an increase of 10,907. Since its inception on November 9, 1927, the free ambulances have attended 51.256 cases and travelled 506.712 tulles. In December, 1934, 719 cases were handled and 7469 miles travelled, compared with 618 cases and 6159 miles in the corresponding month of 1933. Wide Range of Work. Newlands 5 (3), Ohariu Valley 1 (3), Ohan 1 (0), Otaki 26 (15), I’etone 498 (392), Point Howard 4 (4), to Porirua 109 (SO), from Porirua 35 (38), Paremata 9 (11), Pahautanui 7 (4), Plimmerton 23 (9), Paekakariki 21 (11), Pukerua Bay 0 (1), Paraparaumu 50 (25), Palmerston North 0 (-3), Rotorua 1 (0), The Summit 1 (0), Stokes Valley 8 (8), Silverstream 24 (36), Shannon 1 (0), Tawa Flat 27 (10), Trentham 48 (27), Titahi Bay 4 (3), Te Horo 0 (3), Taumarunui 1 (0), Upper Hutt 80 (72), Wainul-o-mata 2 (4), Whiteman’s Valley 2 (2), Wallaceville 13 (15), Waipukurau 0 (1), Waikanae 16 (7), York Bay 0 (3).
