BIBLE CLASS STUDY

4 Methodist Gathering The fourteenth annual convention of the New Zealand Methodist Young Men’s Bible Class Movement, which concluded in Wellington on Wednesday, was attended by about 50 delegates, including movement officers . and representatives from all parts of the Dominion. A number of delegates were in residence from Saturday afternoon, December 20, for fellowship and study circles, the remainder arriving for the business sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 1 and January 2. At Hie opening business session, the president of the church conference, Rev. Clarence Eaton, who was present throughout the proceedings, extended to convention the cordial greetings of the mother church. The office of movement travelling secretary again came up for discussion, convention deciding to make an appointment for three years as from

April 1. 1935, and that arrangements be made for him to conduct series of leadership studies with groups of leaders and prospective leaders in the unions visited, as a step toward more intensive developmental work. Another development was the constitution of the fast-growing North Auckland district as an independent union with the movement. A heavy programme of reports and remits passed before convention, displaying much activity in till parts of the Dominion during the past year and promise of increased work in the future. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: President, Mr. C. .A. Russell (Wellington); vice-presidents, Messrs. A. A. Dingwall (Canterbury), C. E. Gardiner (Wellington), and E. P. Salmon (Auckland) ; secretary, Mr. A. C. Barrington ; treasurer, Mr. W. G. Holloway; travelling secretary. Mr. G. C. Burton; auditor, Mr. P. E. Pattrick, F.P.A.N.Z., together with New Zealand executive council representatives and district organisers, and representatives on various committees.
