HIGHLAND DANCING
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, January 3. The Motueka Highland gathering was attended by many people from other parts of New Zealand. In the sean triubhais New Zealand championship for girls, 12 years and over, Gladys Smith (Hastings) was first, Joy McLachlan (Christchurch) , second, and Jean McLachlan (Christ- ! church) third. In the sean triubhais. South Island championship, men and boys, Manly Jamieson (Blenheim) was .first, and Clarrie Jamieson (Blenheim) second. The Takaka events included the sword dance South Island championship for girls, IS and under. This was won by Jean McLachlan (Christchurch), with Margaret Kerr (Granity) second, and Beta Warren third.
