“Bosambo”

TN “Bosambo,” which is an adaptation of Edgar Wallace's thriller “Sanders of the River.” Paul Robeson has the part of the native king, and makes a striking figure in his leopard skin dress and shield with slabbing spears, leadine his warriors against a rival tribe. His magnificent voice records perfectly. Nina Mae McKinnay, the famous coloured vaudeville star, is seen when the picture opens as one of a band of C/chori slaves being driven through the bush bv their Akasavi captors. They are met by Bosambo and his warriors who Kill the guards and rescue her. This battle between the two parties of natives is carried out with startling reality. 1 London Filins have already created a number of brilliant screen teams in their recent films, but in •“Bosambo.” Zoltan Korda has brought together for the first time a team which will make screen history, in Paul Robeson ami Nina Mae McKinnay. Other important parts are played by’ Leslie Banks. Joan Gardner and Robert Cochran. “Bosambo” will be released bv United Artists.
