F. Wade, the Natal Currie Cup captain, has been appointed captain of the South African team to tour England this year, Cameron will be vicecaptain. Wade has already had experience in playing cricket in England in 1927, 1928 and 1929, ..taking part in Yorkshire League games, when his batting average was 60 in each season. The South African Cricket Board of Control has decided to apply the amended leg-before-wicket rule to all matches,, including Tests, played by the South African team during the tour of England.
