Y.M.C.A. TOURISTS
A party of forty-live young men and young women qre at present touring the North Island in two large motor coaches, under the auspices of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. The tour is under the personal direction of Mr. Len J. Greenberg, general secretary of the association who is accompanied by Mrs. Greenberg, with Mr. J. D. Hunter as deputy-leader. The tourists left Wellington on Christmas Eve, and travelled via Palmerston North to Wanganui, New Plymouth, Waitomo, Hamilton, Auckland, and Tauranga, visiting all the various places of interest en route. Last Monday was spent at Rotorua, which is always the scone of gaiety on New Year’s Eve; while yesterday the trippers journeyed from Rotorua to Taupo, inspecting Aratiatia Rapids, Huka Falls, and Wairakei Geyser Valley, To-day the party is due to proceed from Taupo to Napier, thence returning to Wellington via the Wairarapa, arriving home late to-morrow (Thursday) evening. The tour will cover a total distance of eleven hundred, miles.
