WEEK-END ACCIDENTS

Head Injured in Fall Unconscious and with injuries to his head, concussion and shock, as the result of a fall from a fire escape in the yard behind the Night Bird Cafe, Cuba .Street, William Turner, a steward on the Rangitata, was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance at 1 a.m. yesterday. Last night he had regained consciousness, but his injuries had not been exactly determined by the doctors. Kenneth Shute, aged 9, of 99 Richmond Street, Petone, has been admitted to Wellington Hospital with scalds on his chest and abdomen, received by. the upsetting of a billy of boiling water. The accident happened last Wednesday, and the boy has been attended by Dr. D. S. Milne, of Otaki. He was brought to Wellington from the Otaki motor camp by the Free Ambulance on Saturday night. His case is not regarded as grave.
