Holiday Crowds Gather ACCOMMODATION TAXED All available accommodation has been booked out for the past week in anticipation of the Marlborough Regatta to be held on New Year's Day at Picton. Hotels, boarding-houses and private lodgings are filled to capacity, while many have taken advantage of the flue weather to live under canvas. In practically every section about Pieton the camper has taken up his residence. Notable among these campers is the Star Boating Club’s huge blue and white marquee, in •which twenty-two members of the. club taking part in the regatta are living: Wellington club teams are also, under canvas at Ouah/tu, some little distance from Picton. The weather promises to be perfect, although the water may be a little Tough. Competing crews are from the following clubsPieton, Blenheim, Star .(Wellington), Wellington, Petone, Wairan. and the Arnpawa Maori chib. Good fields are entered for each event, .and ns .all the crews are very fit, exditing racing should be the order of the day. The officials conducting the regatta are:—Patrons. Messrs. W. J. A Smitl); secretary, Mr. 11. C. Madsen; committee, Captain C. McArthur, Messrs. G. O. Beech, J. M. Carnahan. Chris, Fredericks, A. G. Jackson. E. R Lane. TI. C. Madsen, G. J. Riddell, K. B - Sadd. A. R. Smith. Rov Smith. H. Steeds, G. Sutton, A. A. Whiting, E. M. Williams and captains of visiting crews. The first race is timed to start at.
