HOT HOUSE PLANTS

The Reserves Committee reported to the City Council last night the offer of Mr. Henry Wright to present to the city his collection of hot-house plants, and recommended that the offer be accepted when accommodation can be provided for them; also that Mr. Wright be written to thanking him for his offer. The committee further recommended that ,£450 be considered for placing on next year’s estimates for the extension of the present glasshouse at the Botanical Gardens, and £l5OO for the erection of show houses at the gardens. The recommendations were adopted.
