MELROSE NEEDS
DEPUTATION TO CITY COUNCIL A deputation from the Melrose Ratepayers’ Association waited on the City Council last night, in connection with the needs of the district. Mr. W. J. Williamson said that, the asphalt path in Kopiri Street should be completed as early as possible. He also mentioned that Antico and Mansfield Streets were in need of immediate repairs, the latter being dangerous for bus traffic. ' Melrose Crescent, Sutherland Road, and Manchester Street were spoken of ns places that required some attention. Tlie deputation also asked that Sutherland Road be tar sealed or paved from the Zoo to the top of the hill. Drainage and electric light extensions were also requested from Hornsey Road southward. The Mayor said that the list would be handed over to the chairman of the Works Committee, who would go into it. and report in due course. The Council was anxious to get all the outlying districts in good order.
