LOAN TO COVER NEW SOUTH WALES DEFICIT Sydney, February 29. The Assistant Treasurer, Mr. B. S. Stevens, announced that there would be no increase in taxation this year. 'I he Government intends at the end of the present financial year that the deficit left by the Lang Government will be funded, which means that a loan will be taken out to cover the deficit, the liability to be spread over a period ol years. It is intended in the new financial vear to alter the incidence of taxation investigations are now being made in this direction. An effort will also be made by the Government to reduce expenditure and bring about economies, but not at the expense of efficiency.
