SOVIET INTRIGUE IN INDIA
MONEY FOR FINANCING A RAILWAY STRIKE Delhi, February 28. Definite evidence of Soviet intrigue in India was furnished by a statement at the Indian Railway Federation meeting that a large sum was donated from Moscow to finance the recent BengalMagpur Railway strike, when fifteen thousand workers were involved. The money was sent to Calcutta, via the Deutsche Bank, Berlin, and the National City Bank of New York, but on the unauthorised instructions of a Railwaymen’s Union official the money was refunded and Moscow was asked to be more careful in. sending in future.
