QUESTION OF INTERPRETATION. BY Telegraph.—press association. Stratford, February 28. Air. Tate, S.M., yesterday gave judgment in a case in which a claim was made for alleged loss arising from the purchase of a cow which was guaranteed sound, and which turned out on calving to be unsound. The Magistrate non-suited plaintiff. An auctioneer gave a warranty m the form of a letter, "G. 5. . meaning “Guaranteed sound.” For plaintiff it was held that this meant guaranteed sound at calving, but the Magistrate held that it meant only guaranteed at the time of the sale. He said that if farmers desired a warranty of soundness at calving, they must demafld the guarantee in specific terms to that effect.
