OCTOBER EXAMINATIONS PASS LIST ANNOUNCED Mr. J. Marchbanks has received the pass list in connection with the October examinations held under the auspices of the Institute of Civil Engineers. Those examinations are held twico a year—in April and October—and all the papers are forwarded to England for adjudication. It is somewhat remarkable that of the 69 passes in the preliminary section from all the world, 26 per cent, were New Zealanders. This is accounted for by the lact that in Public Works Department, and Bail ways Department, officers cannot rise above a certain grade without becoming an Associate of the Institute.
