BENEFIT SPORTS MEETING
The return visit to Wellington, of the Australian champion cyclists, Standen and Grey, takes place at the Basin Reserve to-morrow evening, when they will be pitted against, tiie best available talept. The feature of the evening will be a three miles’ pursuit race, in which Standen and Gray will ho opposed by T. Oakley and J. Carswell. A scratch HO yards’ flat race appears on the programme, in which Fleming will be opposed by Allan, Cunningham Veitch, and other prominent quarter-milers. In addition to the cycling races, in which Hie Australians will compete, a full proeramm? of athletic events help to make Vn> an attractive evening’s entertainment, of which the first event is timed for S p.m. The profits are in aid of the fund for Dominion representatives at the Olympic Gaines.
